Official Statement by BP

At BP our goal is to keep the world moving by driving next gen integrated mobility solutions whilst making a real contribution to a low carbon future. We’re focused on how fleets, Last Mile / First Mile Logistics and on-demand mobility will shape transportation. Electrification is integral to this and we intend to provide the fastest and most convenient network of home, business and service station ultra-fast charging solutions. Our participation in STARTUP AUTOBAHN helps us realize this ambition by enabling us to tap startups who are pioneers in the field of mobility tech and who are looking for support to scale-up or access new markets. Having the opportunity also to partner and work together with progressive, innovative companies through STARTUP AUTOBAHN fuels cross-industry innovation that will shape the future of mobility and we are delighted to be part of this ecosystem.

Although the hydrogen ecosystem is still nascent, it holds real promise. It has the potential to dramatically cut greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 61 gigatons a year, through applications such as the use of fuel cells in heavy vehicles, or industrial processes such as ammonia, steel, and chemical manufacturing.

This panel seeks to discuss the most pressing techno-economic challenges that must be overcome for the wide-scale commercialization and mass adoption of hydrogen fuel cell applications.
