you name it – we put it up

I'm a Partner in Earlybird’s Munich Office and I focus on enterprise software with a particular interest in developer, data and productivity tools, alongside AI-centric products and robotics. Before transitioning into VC in 2017, I gained more than 5 years of experience as a process automation and predictive maintenance engineer at ThyssenKrupp and further insights as a management consultant at GE North America.

I conducted my Ph.D. at the Technical University of Munich on the topic of "Machine learning and the value of data in venture capital". Moreover, I hold a M.Sc. in Management and a B.Eng. in Mechatronics Engineering and was previously educated at Harvard University, University of Cambridge and Georgia Institute of Technology, among others.

In the wake of the pandemic calling for wide-scale corporate digitalisation, the startup scene boomed: 2021 was Europe’s first year exceeding the $100Bn mark for total startup investments and Europe’s best year for unicorns. 2022, however, is a completely different story. High inflation, geopolitical crises and a reverse of globalisation trends are all leading to an economic slowdown. It is a time to pause and reassess.

This panel will discuss the changes that the early stage tech scene has witnessed over the span of a few years and will discuss how investors and startup founders are responding to the current market uncertainties.
